System requirements:

pISTil is distributed as a source code for Linux and Macintosh OSX (10.4 or higher) systems.It runs on top of several software packages.
In order to use pISTil you must separately obtain licenses and install Staden package and a base calling program Phred.
The pISTil interface uses PHP and PostgreSQL to dynamically generate HTML content based on the user's actions. As such it is independant of platform, provided a suitable web server is available.
Other dependencies like NCBI BLAST toolkit, Bioperl,Perl (with DBI, CGI, Text::Wrap), are not included with pISTil and must be downloaded and compiled separately.

download all components that you don't have installed yet to a specific folder named 'pistil_components' on your desktop.
unzip if necessary each software
compil separatly each software following INSTALL instruction
